Now you can “purchase with a purpose” at Big Tent Books! Just click on the link for Operation Smile:OneSmile at the right. This is an ongoing fundraiser, so you can jump in at any time, and as often as you like.
For each copy of Baron Thinks Dogs Are People Too!—Operation Smile, purchased from this link, $1.00 will be donated to the organization.
Operation Smile is an international organization that helps babies and young children born with facial deformities. Often these little ones are unable to suckle, fail to thrive, and become very sick. Surgeons can perform an initial operation, which costs under $300, to repair the congenital defect, and effectively create a new life for the patient.
Visit Operation Smile:OneSmile to learn more about the worldwide efforts/fund; and thank you so much for your continued support… it is greatly appreciated.
Smile—it feels good!
November 9, 2008
It was a cold and gray November day on the outside… but Baron was cozy with his new friends who came into The Stork’s Cradle Gift Shop. We celebrated the official launch of Baron Thinks Dogs Are People Too! in a fun-loving fashion. There were story times, a Pin-The-Tag on Baron game, prizes for the coloring contest winners, balloons for the boys and girls, and a big green bouncy ball to toss around with Baron. Yummy cookies sweetened the day!

Baron will start next year by taking a flight to Utah! The five first grade classes of West Clinton Elementary School have invited Baron for a story time visit on Friday, January 9, 2009. Stay tuned for more info from The Beehive State!
Look for Baron at KinderCare Learning Center, 100 East Loop Road, Wheaton, IL, on November 12th. Story time at 10:00 a.m. and big squishy hugs for the boys and girls given by Baron himself!
